Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico to a family of musicians. Growing up, she listened to lots of traditional music as well as traditional Boleros. In addition, she was a fan of the traditional romance ballads as well as ranchero. Ana loves tangos, opera, and all forms of dramatic performance. She began singing and learning musical instruments with her mother then began more intense singing training when she was 16 working with the famous Mexican tenor Flavio Becerra. She continued her musical training at the School of Music of Guadalajara University and later at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara as well as Mexico City, she was an opera singer in numerous chamber and choruses. The year 2000 saw her move back to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. After 2007, she relocated to her current home in Southern California. She currently is a part of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and is a frequent solo performer in classical Latin American music at private events. She's involved in numerous local activities, both an instructor and performer because of her love for art and music. Ana was also a singer in the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that with the sharing her love of Latin American traditional songs, that she can inspire enthusiasm, specifically for the young generation and keep the tradition alive.
