Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). Her family made the move to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five when she enrolled in an academy called the Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she made the decision to become an actress. The actress trained for several years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she studied acting and singing. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach performances as well as in school events when she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was announced in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma via her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were chosen to play the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first cinematic appearance was alongside Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It set new records for the opening day sales as well as opening week-end take-offs and became the top-grossing movie of the year 2001. The film received praise from critics, as were the performance of three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a popular British paper, praised her for her outstanding performance. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later for the movie.
